The Olango Birds and Seascape Tour is one of 10 "Highly Commended Honorees" of the Conservation International's 2000 Excellence

Duration and frequency
The Olango Birds and Seascape Tour (OBST) starts and ends at Mactan, the country’s premier tourism destination. From the tour boat’s regular docking area, it only takes a 5-10-minute drive to any of the luxury hotels and resorts that line the coast of Mactan.

Package inclusions

Boat tour around the islands
Welcome necklace and buko (young coconut) drinks Lunch and drinks (1 bottled water and 1 can of softdrinks)
Paddleboat ride to the Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary
Local services (including community interaction and entertainment)
Cooking demonstration by women’s group
Naturalist interpretation of wildlife and seascape
Contributions to environmental fund and community fund
Use of community huts, rest rooms and other facilities
Boat transfer to and from Mactan Island Olango Island
Wildlife Sanctuary entrance fee
Use of spotting scope and other bird watching equipment
Kontiki Beach Resort entrance fee

plus Tour of seaweed farm
         Seaweed farming demo
         Transfer by small boat to Gilutongan Island
OR  Marine sanctuary entrance fee (swimming area)
         Swimming at marine sanctuary
         Services of marine sanctuary safety staff.


Mode of payment and cancellation
The Tour requires a minimum 50% deposit upon written confirmation, the balance to be paid by cash or company check to the designated community or cooperative treasurer immediately after the tour. Personal checks are not accepted.

Booking
The Tour requires a minimum of 10 participants per trip, 24-hour notice and written confirmation of booking. It operates 7 days a week with a maximum of two tour trips a day, and a maximum carrying capacity of 30 persons per trip. Please address all booking inquiries to:
