For Banacon Planters, Tenure Remains Elusive
Banacon Island in Getafe, Bohol is a pioneer and model in community-based mangrove management, having contributed immensely to drumming up many communities' interest in mangrove rehabilitation and protection. Ironically, the mangrove planters of Banacon have yet to be accorded the tenurial rights already granted mangrove planters in the other communities.
