Overfishing, habitat destruction and population pressure are as big a problem as ever, but there is now a high level of awareness of these issues and the measures that can be taken to address them. The increasing interest of local government units in coastal resource management is certainly very encouraging. So there's a lot of hope that the Philippines can keep our remaining coral reefs intact and beautiful and perhaps even bring back those that we have lost. That can be something to look forward to for when you come home... In the meantime, have fun, too, CRMP : You guys are doing a great job for the coastal resources of the Philippines. Doing the same job here in the US as harvest management biologist for the state of WA, specifically the Columbia River system of the Northwest. : Still missing the Philippines and missing the beatiful coral reefs of the country. : Have fun!!!! : Victor A.
